The Tourism Department of Georgia’s Black Sea region of Adjara is hosting journalists from Poland in promotion of the region’s tourist potential, the state body said on Thursday.

After visiting main tourist attractions of the city of Batumi, the visitors were also introduced to the mountainous parts of the region and were hosted to a folklore show and tasting of local dishes.

The ongoing visit will be followed by the Department hosting reporters from the Czech Republic, Latvia, Israel and Saudi Arabia, while the head office of Euronews will visit the region in September.

About 150 representatives of tour agencies and media have already been introduced to the tourist potential of the seaside region, with the Department saying the programmes had resulted in 700 articles, blog posts and social media posts being published in international media.
