Türkiye ($1.52 billion), Russia ($1.21 billion) and China ($1.09 billion) were the top trading partners of Georgia in its total external trade turnover in January-July 2022, preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia show.
Georgia's top partners by exports in January-July 2022 were China ($475.6 million), Azerbaijan ($351.5 million) and Russia ($339.1 million), while the top markets by imports were Türkiye ($1.22 billion), Russia ($874.9 million) and China ($619 million).
In January-July 2022, Georgian external trade turnover equalled $10.18 billion, posting an increase of 35.3 percent year-on-year.
The value of exports rose by 36.4 percent and equalled $3.10 billion in the reported period, while imports also grew by 34.8 percent, amounting to $7.08 billion.
Trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which imports exceed exports, reached $3.98 billion, while the share of trade turnover hit 39.1 percent.
