Tbilisi International Airport will have a 20-year general plan for development that will include “important components” such as development of the infrastructure, increase in passenger and cargo flow, Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili was cited as saying by the Ministry on Friday.
During her meeting with Tea Zakaradze, the General Director of Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports, and a delegation of ADP Ingénierie, an international firm designing and developing airports, Kvrivishvili said it was crucial for each airport in Georgia to have a long-term development plan.
The meeting also noted the introduction of ADPI representatives to the infrastructure of Tbilisi International Airport, with the state body saying it would complete the work on the development plan of the country's main airport by the end of this year.
The long-term general plan of the airport will be handed over to the state in January 2023, Zakaradze was cited as saying by the Ministry.
