Coronavirus: Georgia reports 20,326 new cases, 48,468 recoveries, 57 deaths

Georgia has reported 20,326 new cases of coronavirus, 48,468 recoveries and 57 deaths in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stands at 30.88%.

A total of 196,192 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 65,829 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 40,367 of them were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 25,462 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 1,438,353 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

1,226,619 of the 1,438,353 infected individuals have recovered, while 15,516 have died from the virus.

The new 20,326 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 9,535 cases 
  • Adjara - 1,488 cases 
  • Imereti - 3,269 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 1,145 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 1,079 cases 
  • Guria - 572 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1,337 cases 
  • Kakheti - 1,127 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 370 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 307 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 97 cases
  • NCDC head: 70% of population needs to be vaccinated by July to stop pandemic

6,100 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,261 of them are in intensive care units. 278 patients are on artificial ventilation. 

188,334 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

1,342,909 individuals in the Georgia have received at least one dose of Covid-19 the vaccine so far, while 1,232,752 have been fully vaccinated, which makes up 42.9% of the country's adult population.
