Georgia reports 19,968 new cases of coronavirus, 55 deaths

Georgia has reported 19,968 new Covid-19 cases, 23,675 recoveries, and 55 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 30.24%.

Overall 224,391 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 64,187 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 39,833 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 34,354 were PCR tests. 

1,418,027 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,178,151 of 1,418,027 patients have recovered, while 15,459 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,913 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of February 11.

The 19,968 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 9,493 cases 
  • Adjara - 1,654 cases 
  • Imereti - 2,760 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 980 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 1,184 cases 
  • Guria - 580 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1,327 cases 
  • Kakheti - 1,110 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 410 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 371 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 99 cases

A total of 6,098 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,244 patients are in critical condition out of which 275 are on artificial ventilation.

216,424 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,342,299 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,231,649 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 42.9% of the country’s adult population.
