Coronavirus: Georgia reports 22,444 new cases, 53 deaths

Georgia has reported 22,444 new Covid-19 cases, 13,245 recoveries, and 53 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 29.93%.

Overall 228,153 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 68,392 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 42,943 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 25,449 were PCR tests. 

1,398,059 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,154,476 of 1,398,059 patients have recovered, while 15,404 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,913 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of February 10.

The 22,444 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 10,931 cases 
  • Adjara - 1,876 cases 
  • Imereti - 3,281 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 1,193 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 1,062 cases 
  • Guria - 616 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1,496 cases 
  • Kakheti - 1,101 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 450 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 359 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 79 cases

A total of 6,085 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,232 patients are in critical condition out of which 291 are on artificial ventilation.

220,210 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,341,732 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,230,594 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 42.8% of the country’s adult population.
