Georgia reports 15,712 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 32.85%

Georgia has reported 15,712 new cases of coronavirus, 21,623 recoveries and 40 deaths in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate stands at 32.85 percent.

A total of 190,241 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 46,425 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 26,163 of them were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 20,262 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 1,454,065 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

1,248,242 of the 1,454,065 infected individuals have recovered, while 15,556 have died from the virus.

The new 15,712 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 7,713 cases 
  • Adjara - 919 cases 
  • Imereti - 2,495 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 828 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 698 cases 
  • Guria - 463 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1,088 cases 
  • Kakheti - 997 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 235 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 227 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 49 cases

6,123 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,270 of them are in intensive care units. 284 patients are on artificial ventilation. 

182,537 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

1,343,219 individuals in the Georgia have received at least one dose of Covid-19 the vaccine so far, while 1,233,366 have been fully vaccinated, which makes up 42.9% of the country's adult population.
