Specific measures necessary for an “organised and successful” grape harvest in Georgia this season was discussed by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Government officials earlier today.

Participants pointed out the “complete readiness” of both state authorities and private sector for conducting the harvest in an “organised manner”, the Government Administration said.

Coordination headquarters for the 2022 harvest season will launch on August 25 in the city of Telavi in eastern Georgia's winemaking province of Kakheti, and operate round-the-clock.

All winemakers will be able to sell their crops with the support of the state, the officials also noted, adding the “dynamics of stable development” of the winemaking industry of recent years would be maintained.

The Administration also said the subsidy for the local winemakers would continue this year, adding specific details would be announced at the next Government meeting.
