Priorities of Georgia-US strategic partnership, Russia's ongoing occupation of Georgian territories and the country’s European perspectives were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian Ambassador to the United States David Zalkaliani and Derek Chollet, the Counselor of the US Department of State.
Zalkaliani noted that the meeting had stressed “importance” of regional peace and stability and extended his gratitude to American partners for supporting Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

In his turn, Chollet highlighted “productive” meeting with Georgian Ambassador and stressed the United States continued to support Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, sovereignty, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
