Israeli-based Arkia Airlines will add charter flights from Eilat to Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi starting August 7, Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said on Monday.

Arkia Airlines will launch charter flights twice a week between August 7-29, on Mondays and Fridays.

Kvrivishvili noted the addition of the new directions from Israel would contribute to the growth of the tourist flows to Georgia, “especially” during the summer season.

Israel is a particularly important tourist market, which is growing. We are actively working to attract more tourists from the country,” Kvrivishvili said.

Until now, the Israeli based Airlines had operated flights from Tel Aviv to Tbilisi.
