Georgian authorities have launched an inquiry following the release of a video on social media showing pollution of the Dzirula River in western Georgia, the Environmental Supervision Department of Georgia announced on Tuesday.
Samples of river water and dead fish from the river have been taken by Department professionals and sent for laboratory research.
The agency also pointed out the presence of a concrete factory near the river as a potential factor in the pollution. Authorities are inspecting the factory along with their studies of the samples.
