Coronavirus: Georgia reports 23,134 new cases, 17,594 recoveries, 33 deaths

Georgia has reported 23,134 new cases of coronavirus, 17,594 recoveries and 33 deaths in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stands at 30.36%.

A total of 207,483 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 76,205 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 48,711 of them were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 27,494 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 1,294,217 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

1,071,560 of the 1,294,217 infected individuals have recovered, while 15,174 have died from the virus.

The new 23,134 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 10,667 cases 
  • Adjara - 2,207 cases 
  • Imereti - 3,566 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 1,379 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 1,050 cases 
  • Guria - 572 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1,611 cases 
  • Kakheti - 1,014 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 497 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 449 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 122 cases
  • NCDC head: 70% of population needs to be vaccinated by July to stop pandemic

6,172 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,151 of them are in intensive care units. 278 patients are on artificial ventilation. 

199,357 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

1,339,345 individuals in the country have received at least one dose of Covid-19 the vaccine so far, while 1,226,339 have been fully vaccinated.
