Georgia reports 22,263 new cases of coronavirus, 39 deaths

Georgia has reported 22,263 new Covid-19 cases, 15,575 recoveries, and 39 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 25.24%.

Overall 203,238 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 73,821 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 46,355 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 27,466 were PCR tests. 

1,272,371 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,053,966 of 1,272,371 patients have recovered, while 15,141 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,804 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of February 4.

The 22,263 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 10,129 cases 
  • Adjara - 2,173 cases 
  • Imereti - 3,357 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 1,340 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 1,279 cases 
  • Guria - 456 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1,480 cases 
  • Kakheti - 1,091 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 479 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 376 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 103 cases

A total of 5,808 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,146 patients are in critical condition out of which 271 are on artificial ventilation.

195,472 people are undergoing treatment at home.
