Georgia reports 23,664 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 27.36%

Georgia has reported 23,664 new Covid-19 cases, 8,326 recoveries, and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past seven days stands at 23.40%.

Overall 196,589 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 77,584 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 47,972 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 29,612 were PCR tests. 

1,250,108 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,038,391 of 1,250,108 patients have recovered, while 15,102 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,804 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of February 3.

The 23,664 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 11,543 cases 
  • Adjara - 2,334 cases 
  • Imereti - 3,413 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 1,296 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 1,115 cases 
  • Guria - 537 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1,554 cases 
  • Kakheti - 851 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 472 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 462 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 87 cases

A total of 5,723 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,139 patients are in critical condition out of which 262 are on artificial ventilation.

188,897 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,337,957 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,224,149 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 42.6% of the country’s adult population.
