NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance was working on “further strengthening” partnership and providing “more support” to Georgia after his meeting with Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze on Thursday.
Stoltgenberg said he and NATO allies had stressed the importance of “stepping up” their support to partners “vulnerable” for Russian aggression, including Georgia, with Russia having already occupied two of its regions.
The Secretary General also highlighted his “very constructive and good meeting” with Burchuladze, adding he expected alliance leaders to “recommit to its open door policy” and “further step up” the cooperation with Georgia - as their “close partner” - during the upcoming Madrid Summit.
