Sweden is “one of the most extraordinary partners” for Georgia and distinguished by its support of the country, Irakli Khutsurauli, the Ambassador of Georgia to Finland and Sweden, said on Thursday.
The Georgian diplomat made the remark in his assessment of an ongoing visit of Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili to Sweden, noting the latter’s support for Georgia's European integration in comments reported by Imedi TV channel.
Khutsurauli highlighted Sweden’s readiness to support Georgia in the country’s quest in receiving the European Union membership candidate status. He stressed Sweden’s “vision in this direction” and noted Georgia could count on the former’s position in the process.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia is leading a delegation of the lawmaking body in a series of visits to Nordic countries.
