Q1: average salary in Georgia up 15%

The average monthly salary in Georgia went up by ₾190 ($65/€​​62) in the first quarter of 2022, marking a 15.1 percent growth compared to the same period of last year and totalling ₾1,446 ($495/€476), the latest data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia show.

The highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:

  • Financial and insurance activities - ₾3,037 (+24%)
  • Information and communication - ₾2,339 (+8.3%)
  • Professional, scientific and technical activities - ₾1,963 (+9.1)
  • Mining and quarrying - ₾1,900 (+15.9%)

Additionally, the office said in the majority of sectors, average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women, with the data showing men earned about ₾511 ($174/€168) more than women each month in the first quarter of 2022. 

As for the annual growth of earnings, the figure amounted to ₾162 (15.8%) for women and ₾222 (15.1%) for men. 

The average monthly earnings of employees in the business sector increased by ₾196 (15.3%) for a total of ₾1,479 ($506/€487), while in the non-business sector the figure grew by ₾177 (14.6), totalling ₾1,390 ($476/€457), Geostat reported.
