Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze on Thursday said the European security architecture “cannot be perfect” without security and stability in the Black Sea region.
The official made the comment as he attended a working meeting held at NATO headquarters and in the framework of a defence ministerial hosted by the alliance, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.
Today we need to be united against the aggressor like never before. The European security architecture cannot be perfect without security and stability in the Black Sea region”, Burchuladze noted in his remarks.
The Minister highlighted he represented the country that had been “one of the biggest” contributors to NATO peacekeeping operations “for decades”, which he said strengthened the country and made it more compatible with the alliance along with the modernisation and transformation of the Georgian Defence Forces.
Burchuladze stressed the importance of intensive cooperation with NATO on the backdrop of a “complicated” security environment amid the war in Ukraine, and expressed his support for the country under the Russian invasion.
He also noted the Georgian Government was making “every effort” to prevent conflict and pursued “peaceful” development.
