The Georgian Government has launched a “large-scale” information campaign in southern Georgia’s two municipalities, predominantly populated by ethnic minorities, to provide locals with information about state programmes and services, the Office of the State Minister for Civil Equality announced on Thursday.

Minister Tea Akhvlediani launched the campaign and met with the local population of villages of the Bolnisi and Dmanisi municipalities during which she noted the initiative would cover the whole Kvemo Kartli region.

She said the Government’s continued “maximum efforts” to ensure equal opportunities for citizens regardless of ethnicity, and stressed the importance of their “proper involvement”, the Ministry said. Photo: Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality

Questions related to Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, along with the “anti-Western propaganda and disinformation” will also be included in the campaign, with Akhvlediani saying the issues had a “particularly negative” impact on the civil integration process in the country.
