Georgian law enforcers have arrested an individual for assaulting two leaders of the Republicans opposition party on Monday, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Georgian service has reported.
Khatuna Samnidze and Davit Berdzenishvili were attacked on Monday by unknown individuals in the vicinity of the Kashveti Church of St. George on Tbilisi’s Rustaveli Avenue.
Following the incident, Samnidze told reporters the assailants had initially asked her and Berdzenishvili to talk about politics, before committing verbal and physical abuse against the party members.
