Georgian judo team head coach tops European Judo Union 2021 ranking

The European Judo Union named Lasha Gujejiani, the head coach of the Georgian national judo team, the best male coach of 2021 following four medals claimed by the team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, the EJU announced on Thursday. 

The Georgian Sports Ministry congratulated Gujejiani with the recognition and noted he was awarded by Otto Kneitinger, the President of the Union.

The Georgian team led by Gujejiani won one gold and three silver medals at the Summer Olympic Games last year.

Gujejiani is a two-time World and European champion in the team championship, in addition to the titles of World and European champion among young competitors and the winner of the European Under-23 Championship.
