Georgian hazelnuts exports up 28% as of January 23

Georgia has exported 18,400  tonnes of hazelnuts between August 1, 2021, and January 23, 2022, which is a 28% increase compared to the same period of last year, the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection announces.

The exports generated 84.5 million USD in revenue, marking an 8.3 million USD increase year-on-year. 

The export price of hazelnuts increased by 11% compared to the same period of last year.

Georgian hazelnuts were exported to the following EU countries: 

  • Italy (7,621 tonnes)
  • Germany (3,533 tonnes)
  • Spain (522 tonnes)
  • Czechia (467 tonnes)
  • Poland (379 tonnes)
  • France (339 tonnes)
  • Lithuania (327 tonnes)
  • Bulgaria (144 tonnes)
  • Greece (71 tonnes)
  • Latvia (70 tonnes)
  • Estonia (60 tonnes)
  • Belgium (41 tonnes)
  • Hungary (22 tonnes)
  • Croatia (20 tonnes)

Georgian hazelnuts were also exported to Armenia (1,290 tonnes), China (785 tonnes), Russia (400 tonnes), Ukraine (339 tonnes), and other countries.
