The United States is committed to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of its “important partners” Georgia and Moldova, Department of State Spokesperson Ned Price told a press briefing on Wednesday.
Both Georgia and Moldova are important partners of the United States. We are committed to their sovereignty, to their independence, to their territorial integrity. Our commitment to the sovereignty, to the independence, to the territorial integrity of Moldova and to Georgia is something that we will continue to support,” Price said.
He also noted the US was “always” in touch with its partners in the Black Sea region, including Georgia.
We know that Vladimir Putin may harbor aspirations to wage aggression against other countries in the region. I think we are demonstrating in response to how we are providing our Ukrainian partners with what they need […] that the United States and our allies and partners won’t stand for that type of activity,” Price concluded.
