Emergency Management Service of the Georgian Interior Ministry has called on the public to "practice maximum caution" and avoid walking on frozen lakes and ponds due to a risk of ice breakage.
The service said that the low temperature around Georgia has caused numerous lakes and ponds to freeze, and the citizens have been "moving along" the surfaces of several frozen lakes, including Lisi and Turtle lakes in the capital Tbilisi.
Moving along an icy surface by any means might cause its breakage and put your life and health under the risk, they wrote.
The service noted that the emergency groups have been deployed to Lisi and Turtle lakes and asked the public to follow safety rules.
