Oleksandr Merezhko, the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, on Friday said the visit of the Georgian Parliamentary delegation to Ukraine last weekend was “extremely important".
In an interview with TV Imedi, Merezhko pointed out in order to win the war against Russia, Ukraine needed support from the “entire civilised, democratic world, including Georgia”.
When the Georgian delegation arrived in Ukraine and saw the places where Russia had committed atrocities against the Ukrainian people, we did not need words to explain what had happened. The visit of the Georgian delegation was extremely important for us,” he said.
Merezhko noted since the beginning of the Russian invasion he had received “numerous letters of support” from Georgia.

The cross-party Parliamentary delegation of Georgia was led by Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
