Important issues of strategic cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan were discussed on Friday in a meeting between Levan Davitashvili, the Georgian Economy Minister, and Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan.

Davitashvili hailed the “centuries-old traditions of good neighbourhood” between the two countries in his comments on the meeting.

I am deeply convinced that high-level strategic and good neighbourly relations between our countries will be further strengthened for the benefit of our peoples and countries,” Davitashvili said.

The Vice Prime Minister of Georgia discussed strategic questions for the two countries, including energy, transport, tourism, communications, investment and other sectors, the Ministry of Economy of Georgia said.

The cooperation between the two countries is really strategic, and Azerbaijan is one of our main economic partners. Our cooperation with this country includes many important projects of not only regional, but also international significance,” Davitashvili said after the meeting.
