The adoption of the act in support of Georgia by the United States House Foreign Affairs Committee was hailed by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia as “a testament to the firm bilateral Georgia-US bonds” on Wednesday.
Shalva Papuashvili said the American lawmakers’ support for the bill was especially important “amid existential security threats in the [Black Sea] region,” in reference to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
“As we mark the 30th anniversary of our ties, we highly value the continued support [of the United States],” he tweeted.
