The prospects of Georgia’s European Union membership bid were discussed on Friday in the 61st meeting of the Government Commission for Georgia's Integration into the EU.
The meeting, led by PM Garibashvili, noted Georgia-EU relations had entered a "new stage" and the country was successfully continuing to implement the reforms envisaged in the 2014-signed Association Agreement with the EU.
The Government meeting also decided to set up permanent working groups within the Commission to work on the implementation of the questionnaires received from the European Union as part of the process.
In addition, the process of an individual dialogue with EU member states will be intensified. The Prime Minister of Georgia is in "active communication" with senior officials of EU member states, the Government Administration said.
At today’s meeting the Commission approved Georgia's 2022 National Action Plan for EU Integration and discussed Eastern Partnership flagship projects and the prospects for their implementation.
The Government Commission for Georgia's Integration into the Union is the main decision-making body on EU integration issues, tasked to oversee the integration process.
