Georgian judokas have won five medals at the prestigious Doha World Judo Masters: two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

The medallists are as follows:
- Varlam Liparteliani (-100kg) - gold medal.
- Tato Grigalashvili (-81kg) - gold medal.
- Beka Gviniashvili (-90) - silver medal.
- Vazha Margvelashvili (-66kg) - bronze medal.
- Lasha Bekauri (-90) - bronze medal.

The International Judo Federation wrote that ‘Liparteliani is really is one of the greatest Judokas of this generation.’
Grigalashvili was named 'best male athlete' based on the number of ippon scores (four ippon) and the total time spent on the tatami (16 minutes and 33 seconds) at the end of the competition.
The competition was held between January 11 and 13.
Judoka Varlam Liparteliani has claimed yet another gold for Georgia on the third and last day of the Doha World Judo Masters today. Liparteliani, 31, has handed a defeat to his Azerbaijani rival Zelym Kotsoiev, 22, in the under 100kg category.
The International Judo Federation has named Georgia's young athlete Lasha Bekauri as the newcomer of the year in its unofficial end of year awards.
Georgian judoka Beka Gviniashvili has won the Osaka Grand Slam 2019 today, defeating his Uzbek rival Davlat Bobonov in the under 90kg category. With 481 athlets from 87 nations, the Osaka Grand Slam is held in the Japanese town of Osaka on November 22-24.
Georgian wrestler Vazha Margvelashvili has been crowned judo champion of Europe after defeating two competition favourites at a prestigious competition in Russia.
Nine out of the ten Georgian freestyle wrestlers have grabbed four gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the 47th Annual Henri Deglane Grand Prix of France featuring over 300 athletes from 26 different nations between January 14-18.
Georgian wrestler Beka Ghviniashvili's pool-winning move at the recently concluded Doha World Judo Masters has been named the best ippon of the competition by the International Judo Federation.
Georgian judokas have won a total of eight medals at the Tel Aviv Grand Slam, taking second place in the group competition after France. "The Georgian team did not bring all of their stars to Israel, but they have a quarry that seems limitless despite the size of the country. It is a team so attached to judo that it always aspires to achieve medals in any competition", the International Judo Federation said.
