Finance Ministry investigators arrest four for bribery

The Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance has arrested four individuals for commercial bribery.

Police found that the suspects were systematically selling expired meat products and pastry, produced by various Georgian and foreign companies, removed from the supply chain and intended for destruction. In exchange they were receiving certain quantities of money.

Police officers seized 1,105 kg of expired meat and products and 1,115 kg of expired pastry from the house of one individual arrested.

The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance says the products pose a threat to human life and health.

The crime is punishable by four to six years in prison.
