Georgia reports 3,988 new cases of COVID-19, positivity rate down to 7.64%

Georgia has reported 3,988 new cases of coronavirus, 3,722 recoveries and 49 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate in the country has come down to 7.64% as of December 14 over the last 14 days. 

Overall 40,964 remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

A total of 53,255 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 37,264 of the 53,255 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 15,991 were PCR tests. 

894,801 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 840,985 of 894,801 patients have recovered, while 12,826 have died from the virus.

The 3,988 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,699 cases 
  • Adjara - 239 cases 
  • Imereti - 658 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 215 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 312 cases 
  • Guria - 158 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 301 cases 
  • Kakheti - 170 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 131 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 72 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 33 cases

33,814 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

36,926 individuals are in self-isolation.

Overall, 1,231,315 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,047,569 people have been fully vaccinated.
