Coronavirus: 3,333 new cases, 5,052 recoveries, 56 deaths

Georgia has reported a total of 3,333 new cases of Covid-19, 5,052 recoveries and 56 deaths over the last 24 hours. 

Out of the new cases 1,333 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. 

Other cases were reported in:

  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 302
  • Shida Kartli - 254
  • Kvemo Kartli – 202
  • Kakheti – 178
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 142
  • Adjara – 116
  • Guria – 100
  • Mgtskheta-Mtianeti – 64
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 25

As of now the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus stands at 838,639 I Georgia, including 779,510 recoveries and 11,927 deaths. 

Following the emergence of a new Covid-19 variant of Omicron, which has a high number of mutations, Georgia is tightening travel regulations for eight countries, including South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatin (Swaziland), Mozambique and Malawi.
