Georgia has reported 4,534 new cases of coronavirus, 3,742 recoveries and 74 deaths in the past 24 hours.
47,111 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
51,756 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 30,538 of the 51,756 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 21,218 were PCR tests.
The country has had 831,248 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
9.06 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

772,301 of the 831,248 patients have recovered, while 11,810 have died from the virus.
The new 4,534 cases were recorded in:

- Adjara - 176 cases
- Imereti - 829 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 265 cases
- Shida Kartli - 370 cases
- Guria - 143 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 356 cases
- Kakheti - 267 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 140 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 138 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 36 cases

6,574 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,660 of the 6,574 patients are in critical condition. 379 of the 1,660 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
39,371 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.
42,741 individuals are in self isolation.
2,122,856 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, of which 986,877 have been completely vaccinated.
Georgia may issue two types of COVID passes for internal and foreign use due to the government’s decision to give the passes to the individuals who have recovered from the virus, no matter when the recovery took place, head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze stated earlier today.

Georgian medical professionals have expressed their doubts regarding the issuance of termless COVID passes for recovered individuals, saying that ‘no other country’ follows such a practice. The statements came after the head of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze said yesterday that the government might allow two types of COVID passes for internal and foreign use, with the internal passes having no expiration date for individuals who have recovered from the virus.
Georgian and foreign citizens travelling from eight countries, including South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatin (Swaziland), Mozambique and Malawi, will need to quarantine for 14 days following the emergence of Covid-19 variant in South Africa.
