Georgian Public Defender becomes member of IOI Board of Directors

Georgian Public Defender Nino Lomjaria has become a member of the Board of Directors of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI). The Board of Directors manages the organisations' activities and makes decisions regarding its future projects.

The Georgian office will represent the European region in the Board.

Membership of the IOI Board of Directors is a great honor for the Public Defender of Georgia. The above reaffirms the importance of the work of the Georgian Public Defender’s Office and recognizes its role at the international and regional levels, the Ombudsman's office reported.

Founded in 1978, the IOI aims to strengthen public advocacy organisations and brings together more than 170 ombudsman institutions from over 100 countries.
