One arrested after foiled bank robbery in Tbilisi

Police have arrested one individual after an attempted armed robbery of a Bank of Georgia branch in Tbilisi earlier today.
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the detainee broke into the Bank of Georgia branch on Ketevan Tsamebuli avenue to rob the place but failed and tried to flee the scene.
Patrol police officers, as a result of search operation, arrested him in the vicinity of the place of crime, several minutes later after the incident, MIA said.
Investigation is in progress, and the detainee faces five to seven years of imprisonment.
Police have detained two individuals in Tbilisi earlier today who had plans to break in and rob a Spar supermarket on Chitaia street in Chugureti district.
