122 Georgian children infected with COVID-19 are currently undergoing treatment in Tsitsishvili Children's Clinic in Tbilisi. Fourteen are in critical condition, the clinic director Maia Chkhaidze stated.
The parents of the children are also infected with the virus and remain in the clinic.
Chkhaidze says that only five parents of the 122 children are fully vaccinated.
Georgia has reported 1,851 new cases of coronavirus, 5,530 recoveries and 55 deaths in the past 24 hours.
47,298 are infected with COVID-19 in the country as of today.
The Georgian National Centre for Disease Control said in a report released in early November that 90,680 children (ages 0 to 18) contracted the virus between February 2020 and October 1, 2021, for 14.8% of confirmed cases.
7,708 of the 90,680 children needed medical care in hospitals, while eight died from the virus.
