The Droa opposition party leader Elene Khoshtaria, who has ended her hunger strike after 17 days, is reportedly ‘stable’ and under medical supervision. Khoshtaria stopped her protest last night after her demand to transfer the ex-president from a prison hospital to a multifunctional clinic was met.
Khoshtaria went for rehabilitation to New Hospitals clinic in Tbilisi. The clinic's intensive care specialist Aleksandre Mkhargrdzeli told the press that Khoshtaria is receiving the intravenous infusions.
The patient's condition is stable. Exams show satisfactory results... After IV infusions, she will start specialised feeding with small portions, Mkhargrdzeli said.

Khoshtaria announced a hunger strike in the parliament building on November 4. She aggravated her protest following Saakashvili's episode of fainting, saying that she would not take any medication before the ex-president's transfer to a civil clinic.
Saakashvili, who announced a hunger strike on the day of his arrest on October 1, was transferred from a prison clinic to Gori Military Hospital last night. His personal doctor Nikoloz Kipshidze said that the ex-president's condition is 'severe.'
