Georgia reports 2,141 new cases of coronavirus, 5,081 recoveries, 44 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,141 new cases of coronavirus, 5,081 recoveries and 44 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Overall 45,674 people remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
Overall, 19,886 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 12,025 of the 19,886 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 7,861 were PCR tests.
The country has had 721,388 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
8.94 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
A total of 665,599 of the 680,182 patients have recovered, while 10,089 have died from the virus.

The new 2,141 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 928 cases
- Adjara - 99 cases
- Imereti - 401 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 145 cases
- Shida Kartli - 105 cases
- Guria - 34 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 128 cases
- Kakheti - 221 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 31 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 40 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 9 cases

A total of 6,575 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,605 of the 6,575 patients are in critical condition. 336 of the 1,605 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
38,008 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.
36,891 individuals are in self-isolation.
Overall, 1,036,464 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, while 940,546 people have been fully vaccinated.
Georgia has reported 3,382 new cases of coronavirus, 5,389 recoveries and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours. 36,193 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 16,784 of the 36,193 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 19,409 were PCR tests.
Georgian National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has proposed COVID-19 ‘green passports’ package to the coordination council, the head of the body, Amiran Gamkrelidze, announced earlier today. COVID-19 ‘green passports’ will contain information on the vaccination status of an individual, PCR test results, and confirmation of recovery from COVID-19, if such exists.
“New Delta Plus variant of Coronavirus has not been confirmed in Georgia so far”, Head of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze said today.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has stated earlier today that it is necessary to encourage the public to vaccinate and to refrain from any coercive measures as much as possible amid a recent surge of coronavirus cases.Georgia has reported 1,942 new cases of coronavirus and 46 deaths in the past 24 hours. Health officials announced several days ago that a fifth wave of COVID-19 in Georgia has begun, stating that ‘vaccination is the solution.’
“The government of Georgia has no plans to impose further coronavirus restrictions”, said Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze. Tikaradze denied rumours of traffic restrictions, noting that if someone is spreading disinformation, they are ‘trying to mislead the public’.
