Coronavirus: 2,844 new cases, 814 recoveries, 29 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,844 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 38,042 tests over the last 24 hours.
Out of the 2,844 new cases 775 were reported in Tbilisi.
Other cases of Covid-19 were reported in:
- Imereti – 607
- Kakheti - 368
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 339
- Kvemo Kartli – 154
- Shida Kartli - 147
- Adjara – 127
- Guria – 116
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 85
- Samtskhe-Javakheti – 74
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 52
Meanwhile, 814 individuals have recovered and 29 infected patients have died.
As of now, Georgia has confirmed a total of 631,563 cases of the coronavirus, including 598,468 recoveries and 9,221 deaths.
The number of active cases of Covid-19 stands at 23,848.
Georgian citizens over the age of 50, individuals with chronic diseases and high-risk groups will be given a third dose (booster shot) of the Covid-19 vaccine, Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia announced earlier today.
Just three days after public and private kindergartens resumed operations across Georgia, 14 of them have already closed due to confirmed Covid-19 cases. The closed kindergartens will resume operations on October 18, announces the Kindergarten Management Agency of Tbilisi.
The ruling Georgian Dream party’s candidate for Batumi mayor, Archil Chikovani and the United National Movement opposition party’s candidate for Poti mayor, Gigi Ugulava have tested positive for Covid-19.
Georgia has reported 2,490 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 30,149 tests over the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 2,056 individuals have recovered and 25 infected patients have died. The number of active cases of Covid-19 stands at 24,257.
