Former first lady of Georgia Sandra Roelofs wrote on Facebook that the content of the video published by Ukrainian MP Liza Yasko, in which she and ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili announced the creation of a 'new family', was unexpected for her and the form was 'completely unacceptable'.

Many confused friends and comrades ask me about my personal life. I will not hide from you that the content of the video published on Friday evening was unexpected for me and the form was completely unacceptable. Despite my personal emotions, I remain calm and confident that we will emerge victorious from this battle", Roelofs wrote.

The video published by Yasko on October 1 was recorded before Saakashvili's departure to Georgia.

We are starting a new life, a new family. This is our amazing new relationship. I am very grateful for our past but we are having a fresh start, the two of us, Liza and me", said Saakashvili in a video.

Yasko came to Georgia yesterday and visited Saakashvili at Prison No. 12 in the city of Rustavi, outside Tbilisi. Georgian law enforcement detained Saakashvili on October 1.

Roelofs said that Saakashvili is a political prisoner and 'as a citizen of Georgia, I fully support the demand for his release'.

Saakashvili until now has been officially married to Roelofs. The couple got married in 1993 in New York. An official  announcement about their divorce has not been made yet.

They have two sons Eduard and Nikoloz.
