World's first Wine Blockchain Consortium established in Georgia

The world's first Wine Blockchain Consortium has been established in Georgia through a partnership between the Georgian National Wine Agency and Norway-based blockchain trading platform WiV Technology.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili who today attended the consortium establishing ceremony said that Georgia as the homeland of wine, really deserves to be one of the first countries in the world to introduce technological innovations in the development of the wine industry.

Most importantly, this innovative technology will help verify the quality of wine, increase its sales and marketing efficiency, attract additional capital and finance for wineries, simplify export procedures and improve the quality and price of Georgian wine", Zurabishvili said.

She said that the consortium will especially support female winemakers in the country with special programmes and training courses.
