The opposition European Georgia party has nominated members for its Tbilisi party list earlier today in the run up to the October 2 self-government elections.

Leader and executive secretary of the party Akaki Bobokhidze introduced 35 people from the party for Tbilisi City Council.

Our list is conditional as it depends on each precinct and each vote cast. European Georgia has established a standard that the list is elected by the voters and not the leadership of the party,” Bobokhidze said.

The top ten members of the European Georgia are as follows:

  • Giorgi Noniashvili
  • Dato Zhgenti
  • Nino Ordenidze
  • Besik Donadze
  • Lasha Janjghava
  • Tea Kotua
  • Giorgi Bakhtadze
  • Aleksandre Gurabanidze
  • Malorita Edisherashvili
  • Temur Gvadzbaia

The society gathered here is not only fighting for the mandate of the City Council, but it is also a fight to save our future, therefore we have a special responsibility,” the leader of European Georgia Giga Bokeria said.

Four opposition parties, the United National Movement (UNM), Droa, Girchi-More Freedom and European Georgia have nominated Batu Kutelia, a former official under the UNM-leadership, as the joint majoritarian candidate in the Tbilisi Vake district.

The parties agreed to present joint majoritarian candidates for Tbilisi City Assembly in various constituencies of the capital back in August.

European Georgia received five of 60 opposition seats in the parliamentary elections 2020.

Per the survey of the International Republican Institute (IRI) published earlier in August, European Georgia is supported by one per cent of Georgian voters.
