The occupation forces have resumed illegal ‘borderisation’ activities along the Kareli municipality close to the Russian-occupied Georgian region of Tskhinvali.

The State Security Service says that the illegal ‘borderisation’ in the villages of Takhtisdziri and Gvirgvina has been underway since 2013.

All the illegal activities of the occupation regime are being underway on the occupied territories”, the State Security Service said said.

The illegal ‘borderisation’ process damages the security environment on the ground and affects the daily life of the local population”, it added noting that it is the Russian Federation, which is responsible for the illegal activities.

The Georgian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFERL) says the occupation forces have installed barbed wires on the banners they had placed there earlier.

RFERL also notes that the ‘creeping occupation’ has been ‘intensively underway’ in the village of Takhtisdziri for the last several months. As a result, the local population has lost a total of 30 hectares of land.
