Georgian musician Giorgi Mikadze becomes associate professor of Berklee College of Music in US

Georgian pianist and composer Giorgi Mikadze has been appointed an associate professor at Berklee College of Music in the United States.

Mikadze also holds a degree in Jazz Arts from New York’s prestigious Manhattan School of Music, and in Classical Music, Composition and Performance from Tbilisi State Conservatoire in Georgia.

The well-known artist in the modern music world has achieved numerous successes in concerts and contests.

The young Georgian musician participated in a December 2016 jazz show at the ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn with iconic drummer Jack DeJohnette and bassist Matt Garrison.

In 2016 year he became the first Georgian artist to sign with globally renowned musical instrument company Yamaha, joining a list of internationally acclaimed artists Alicia Keys, Chick Corea, Jamie Cullum and more.

In the past years the young artist has also performed with his band, the Giorgi Mikadze Group, at concerts in New York and Los Angeles as well as the Black Sea Jazz Festival in Georgia’s seaside city of Batumi.
