Georgia has reported 6,208 new cases of coronavirus, 3,539 recoveries and 47 deaths in the past 24 hours.
54,763 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia currently.
47,872 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 33,873 of the 47,872 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,999 were PCR tests.
The country has had 490,462 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

10.63 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
429,190 of the 490,462 patients have recovered, while 6,483 have died from the virus.

- Tbilisi - 2,540 cases
- Adjara - 810 cases
- Imereti - 782 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 307 cases
- Shida Kartli - 363 cases
- Guria - 172 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 368 cases
- Kakheti - 513 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 157 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 146 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 50 cases

6,965 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,429 of the 6,965 patients are in critical condition. 1,298 of the 1,429 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
44,317 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.
49,901 individuals are in self isolation.
More than 7,458,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
831,815 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, of which 245,207 individuals have been completely vaccinated.
The Georgian Defence Forces will be involved in the vaccination process for its effective implementation to combat the surge of coronavirus, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has ordered earlier today.

Wearing of facemasks outdoors has become mandatory in Georgia starting today as coronavirus cases continue to surge in the country, hitting 6,208 daily infections today. Now individuals will have to wear facemasks both indoors and outdoors. Georgia lifted the regulation of wearing facemasks outdoors in June 2021.However, wearing facemasks outdoors where at least five people have gathered became mandatory again starting early August because the coronavirus cases began to surge in Georgia starting July 2021.
Mandatory testing for Covid-19 will not be free of charge for unvaccinated Georgian citizens starting September 15, Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze announced earlier today.
Georgian public service halls and community centres in various regions of Georgia have started issuing Covid cards for Georgian citizens, the Georgian government administration announces. The application submission for the card is free of charge and only identification (ID) cards are required.
