Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited Georgia earlier today.

Georgian Deputy FM Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili welcomed Javad Zarif at Tbilisi International Airport.

Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to hold meetings at the Georgian Foreign Ministry and then with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia and President Salome Zurabiashvili.

Tomorrow Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Turkey.

Georgia imposes travel ban on Iran amid coronavirus outbreak

Georgia has imposed a travel ban on Iran, after a Georgian citizen who recently travelled there has tested positive for the coronavirus. The intergovernmental coordination group ld by Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia gathered on Wednesday after the first case of the infection has been confirmed in the country earlier that day.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia have held separate meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who has arrived in Tbilisi earlier today. Iranian FM also held a phone conversation with his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani who is in self-isolation.
