Health officials confirm 3,344 new Covid-19 cases in Georgia

Georgia has reported 3,344 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours, with 30 deaths and the daily rate of vaccine jabs of 19,355.
In a continuing trend of high daily cases over the past few weeks, the latest figure was confirmed after 27,969 tests in the same timespan.
The number places daily positivity rate at just short of 12 percent, with the total active cases at 41,213.
Vaccination numbers have reached 626,343 individuals who have received their jabs, while 3,376 have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours.
Health authorities have reported 4,216 new confirmed cases in Georgia along with 38 deaths over the past 24 hours.
“The bed capacity of intensive care units for Covid-19 patients has reached its limit”, Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze announced earlier today.
Georgia has reported 3,780 new cases of coronavirus earlier today. Currently 38,806 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.
The Delta variant currently accounts for over 80 per cent of Covid-19 cases in Georgia, while almost 100 per cent of infections recorded in Batumi and Tbilisi are Delta Covid-19 variants, said Deputy Director of the National Centre for Disease Control of Georgia (NCDC) Paata Imnadze earlier today.
Belgium will donate doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine to Georgia through the Covax platform (Covid-19 vaccines Global Access Facility) by the end of 2021, the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. First 168,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be sent to Ukraine and afterwards, 225,600 doses of the vaccine will be delivered to Kosovo, Armenia and Georgia, the Belgian ministry announced.
