3,000 individuals who had registered for the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine were absent yesterday to receive the vaccine, head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze stated earlier today.
He said that the special agency is looking into the reasons why the people did not present.
There is a suspicion that some people (may be anti-vaccine individuals) deliberately register to receive the vaccine (to hamper the vaccination process). The individuals who were registered for the vaccine may have also contracted the virus before the scheduled date. There are reasons and we are studying them,” Gamkrelidze said.
Gamkrelidze stated that currently 4,700 individuals are able to register for the Pfizer vaccine (mostly in the regions), 17,791 for AstraZeneca, 79,523 for Sinopharm and 73,749 for the Sinovac vaccine.

He stated that 99.7 per cent of the 5,910 individuals who have died from the virus were not vaccinated.
Deputy head of NCDC Paata Imnadze said that only four of 523,466 vaccinated individuals have developed the anaphylactic shock. Only one of the four died in March due to the indifference of doctors.
Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia said that the daily coronavirus cases are expected to further rise in the coming ten days.
She urged the public to receive the vaccine, wear face masks and observe coronavirus guidelines.
