Covid-19 in Georgia: 504 new cases, 1,201 recoveries, 17 deaths

Georgia has reported 504 new cases of Covid-19,1,201 recoveries and 17 deaths over the last 24 hours. 

The new cases have been confirmed after conducting a total of 18,288 tests, which included 9,783 PCR tests and 8,505 rapid tests.

Out of the 504 new cases 258 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

• Shida Kartli - 17
• Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 8

As of now the number of total confirmed cases in Georgia stands at  349,098, including 333,505 recoveries, 4 910 deaths and 10,657 active cases.

Health officials call on citizens to wear face masks and maintain social distance even in case of vaccination.

Covid-19 vaccination process started on March 15 when the country received 43,000 doses of AstraZeneca  vaccine.

Georgia, which has also received Pfizer, Sinoprarm and Sinovac vaccines, is expecting to receive 700 thousand doses of Novavax and up to 130 thousand doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines in the third quarter of 2021 via the Covax platform.
