Taxi drivers to undergo mandatory PCR testing for COVID-19 in Tbilisi

Taxi drivers will undergo mandatory PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing for Covid-19 in Tbilisi, said Tbilisi City Mayor Kakha Kaladze earlier today.

PCR testing for taxi drivers will be free.

Risk groups are constantly being identified and tested for Covid-19. One of such risk groups are taxi drivers in Tbilisi. It is very important to take care of people’s health and safety of life”, said Kaladze.

Kaladze said that both category A and B drivers will undergo mandatory PCR testing once every two weeks.

Police have fined several Covid-infected taxi drivers for violating self-isolation rules in Tbilisi.
